Steel Guitar Friday

Today, I am cooking my grandmother's famous recipes to serve to my friends tomorrow. And I'm getting ready to celebrate the birth of the fantastic Zaza Shelley

And today, I am listening to the album I finally got around to buying: Amos Lee's Mission Bell. I don't know how it took me so long... there's a duet with Willie Nelson! I mean.... how did I miss that? But even more than just Willie, this album is slathered in steel guitar. And there's basically no easier recipe to get me to love something than to just coat the whole thing in some pedal steel.

Speaking of pedal steel: this weekend is the one year anniversary of the greatest weekend of my life/the greatest reunion of all time for the Steamboat Springs Band. I miss that family of mine. I'm glad they're still plugging along and making as much music as they can. I am still proud to be a child of this bunch.

Enjoy some of this steel guitar goodness for Friday!

Rewatching this video just made me cry!
